Osvaldo Cruz, is wanted on a warrant issued in Clay County, Florida for Racketeering and Conspiracy to Commit Racketeering, related to his participation in an organized burglary ring targeting jewelry stores and pawn shops in the southeastern United States. This organization would make entry through the roof, disable alarm and surveillance systems and cut open safes. Cruz is 40 years old, 5’ 6” and approximately 160 lbs. The suspect pictured was going to look at diamonds in the 3 to 4 ct. range in a Las Vegas, NV retail jewelry store on March 5, 2011. When the sales associate took out an envelope containing six loose diamonds, the suspect grabbed them and ran from the store. The suspect, who had been communicating with the store by email and phone prior to the theft, is believed to have committed similar thefts in Oregon and Arizona, and is described as a white male, mid-20s, 6’, with brown hair and brown eyes. On February 7, 2011 a retail jewelry store in Lexington, South Carolina was the victim of a burglary. One of the rear doors was cut open and entry was made to the store. The suspects disabled the alarm system and then attempted to cut a hole in a TRTL 30x6 safe with a torch, but were unsuccessful. However, the suspects took merchandise that was left out of the safe. Police consider the two individuals pictured above as suspects in this burglary, which is similar to four other recent incidents in Georgia and one incident in Alabama. The two suspects pictured at the left are wanted for selling fake gold to stores in MD in September 2010, and are believed to have committed other such frauds in PA and NJ. The suspects work in groups of two and three in order to distract employees, while one suspect switches out the gold acid tester bottles with bottles of water. They routinely sell heavy Figaro necklaces and bracelets that are stamped 14k on the clasp. Goodwin is already in custody in NY, but Manley is still at large. The suspect pictured at the left was arrested on November 2, 2010 in New York, NY in a check fraud/wire transfer scheme in which he fraudulently obtained two high-end watches. Due to excellent information sharing by JSA's local crime information sharing network of Midtown New York jewelry firms, and rapid response by the Organized Theft Squad of the NYPD, the suspect was arrested when he tried the same scheme at another jeweler. The NYPD also recovered both watches which had been quickly re-sold to a shop in Manhattan. The suspect has previous arrests in MD, NJ, VA and NY, and had attempted frauds at other NYC retail jewelers. The sketch is of a white male who is a suspect in the grab and run of a diamond ring on September 17, 2010 in Hilton Head, SC. The suspect went into a retail jewelry store claiming that he had been in before with his girlfriend and that they had been looking for an engagement ring setting for their 2.00 to 2.50 carat diamond. The suspect returned later that day and looked at settings. He also called the store for information and came in the next day, saying his girlfriend was going to meet him there. He was shown settings and a 2-carat CZ as an example. The suspect then asked what the yellow stone was in the ring in the center of the showcase. He asked to see the ring, which was shown to him, and he also asked for an eyepiece to examine it. When the jeweler turned slightly to get the loupe, the suspect ran with the ring and jumped on the back of a stolen truck driven by an accomplice and fled. The suspect is described as 6’, 180 lbs., late 20s to early 30s, with short dark hair and dark eyes. The suspect’s two front teeth are crooked and overlap one another, and one of them is chipped. He had rectangular framed glasses, was well-spoken, and was dressed in shorts and a collared shirt. It is reported that the suspect also visited other jewelry stores, including stores in Lake Mary, FL and Savannah, GA, but that no thefts occurred at those locations. It has been reported that the suspect pictured above, who has had a long career using sneak theft techniques to steal from jewelry stores, is being investigated in connection with the theft of a $13,000 diamond ring from a department store in Santa Barbara, CA in August 2010. She is also reported to have visited other jewelry stores in the area at that time. She is very friendly and seeks to confuse sales associates by examining many items, and then palming or taking a item, usually diamond jewelry. The suspect has served time in prison for various jewelry thefts, and has been out on bail for a theft incident in San Diego, CA. The suspect is 80 years old and was last seen with dyed blond hair pulled back tightly. She is reported to look younger in person and is nicely made up. One retail jeweler who saw her was surprised that she was not wearing any jewelry, despite very nice clothing and shoes.

On October 9, 2010 a white female suspect was looking at a 4 CT. TW white gold tennis bracelet in a chain retail jewelry store in the Los Angeles area. While she was looking at it, she dropped a similar looking stainless steel and CZ bracelet on the top of the showcase, and let the sales associate pick it up. Then she quickly asked to see another bracelet and left the store. After she left, the sales associate realized that the bracelet had been switched. The stainless steel bracelet had a tag from a different bracelet which had been removed from a bracelet and stolen in a different branch of the chain, when the above picture was taken. The suspect is described as medium build, 5’2”, 50-years-old, with blond hair combed in a pony tail. The suspect’s hair was brown earlier in the week when the above photo was taken in the other branch location.

On August 26, 2010 at 2:26 a.m. suspects using power tools entered an upstairs wholesale jewelry premise on West 48th Street in Manhattan by cutting through an interior wall. The suspects attacked the vault with tools but were unable to enter it. The alarm system was activated and a signal was received by an alarm company. Alarm personnel responded, discovered evidence of a burglary and called police. The suspects had departed and there was no loss. The surveillance photo pictures one of the suspects.

On February 17, 2010 a total of five male Hispanic suspects entered a retail jewelry store in Okeechobee, FL and pistol whipped the owner, severely injuring her, and cleaned out the showcases. They also threatened to cut her throat and kill her. The victim describes the suspects as either Salvadoran or Honduran, ages 20s to 30s. Three of the suspects had entered and cased the store the day before the robbery, asking for an item to be placed on hold with a deposit. The sketches above are of three of the robbers, none of whom wore masks.

The suspect returned to the store on March 15th and requested to look at a pair of earrings valued at $18,000. Once he was shown the earrings, he ran with them out of the store. The suspect is described as a white male, early 40s, 5’10,” 195 lbs. He was wearing a baseball cap, jeans and a beige-striped shirt. He is reported to have driven away in a grey Land Rover Discovery.

On September 17, 2009 the suspect pictured above entered a retail jewelry store in the Columbia, South Carolina area seeking a two-carat diamond engagement ring. When he was shown a ring and matching wedding band from the antique and estate showcase, he asked to see other stones. When the owner went to get the other stones, the suspect occupied and distracted the employees on the floor, and then reached over and into the showcase and took the two carat ring he had been shown. The suspect, who spoke with great knowledge about jewelry, then left in ten minutes. The missing ring was discovered later that day and the surveillance photos were reviewed.

The individual pictured above is wanted in connection with a $47,800 credit card fraud. On September 29 he produced a driver’s license and used a fraudulent credit card at a retail jeweler on Fifth Avenue in New York City that was initially rejected by the credit card company. When the suspect was advised of the rejection, he used his cell phone and pretended to call the credit card company. After a short conversation, the suspect handed his cell phone to the sales associate who believed that she was talking with the credit card representative and accepted a verification number and then released the jewelry. It is reported that the same suspect attempted the same method but was unsuccessful in several other Fifth Avenue retail jewelry stores during the same time period, and is also believed to have participated in similar frauds in CA and NJ. An Hispanic male suspect entered a retail jewelry store in San Diego, CA jewelry store on August 8, 2009 and pulled a pistol from his pocket. He gave the female store manager and a female sales associate a bag and ordered them to fill it from two floor display cases which contained diamond jewelry, gold necklaces and watches. The sales associate remembered helping the suspect on the previous day, when there was no sale made or identification recorded. The suspect is described as 25-years-old, 6', 155 lbs., dark hair, thin mustache, wearing a military style floppy hat, blue long-sleeved pullover and blue jeans. The person pictured is a suspect in the theft of 19 diamond rings from a retail jewelry store in Sarasota , FL on September 22, 2009. The person pictured asked a sales associate to see a ring. The sales associate unlocked the showcase and removed one diamond ring from a cushion with 20 rings. The suspect requested a loupe to take a closer look at the stone. The sales associate closed the showcase, but did not lock it. When the sales associate walked back to get the loupe, the suspect opened the case, took the tray of diamond rings and fled the store. The three white suspects pictured above entered a retail jewelry store in Nashville, TN at 1:00 p.m. on June 29, 2009. The younger male suspect shielded the older male suspect from the view of store employees while the older male suspect took two diamond watches from a cabinet. The older male then handed the watches to the female who put them in her purse. The older male suspect was described as in his late 40s, short dark graying hair, 5' 9” and 180 lbs. The younger male, described as a teenager, is 5'8”, 145 lbs., with short spiky black hair. The female is described as in her 30s, 5'3”, 140 lbs. with long brown hair.

Boca Raton Police are looking for Edwin Andres Zaragoza (left) and Rodolfo Vargas-Londono (right) who are suspects in the robbery of a traveling salesperson on May 7, 2008. Police describe the suspects as part of a gang targeting traveling jewelry salespersons. Police say that members of the gang use numerous aliases and travel between numerous U.S. cities. It is believed that several members of the gang, who are primarily Colombian, have been previously deported and have re-entered the country illegally. In the May 2008 incident four suspects smashed the window of a salesperson's vehicle parked outside a jewelry store and took a bag of jewelry. However, the salesperson had a concealed weapons permit and shot and killed one of the robbers. A fourth member of this gang was arrested in January 2009 for entering the country illegally in Texas, and is now in the Palm Beach County jail on charges of felony murder and robbery in connection with the death of his accomplice who was killed in the May 2008 incident. Zaragoza is 31-years-old, 5'4” and 130 lbs., with tattoos on his right arm and a tattoo that says “Jasbleidy” on his neck and left hand. Vargas-Londono is 21-years-old, 5'5” with pierced ears. On May 27, 2009 this suspect walked into a retail jewelry store located in the Aventura Mall, Aventura , Florida , posed as a customer, and asked to see a diamond watch valued at $80,250. As a sales associate described the features of the timepiece, the suspect grabbed the watch from the associate's hand and ran out of the store. The store security guard followed the suspect to an area outside of the mall and was able to provide the police with a description of the getaway vehicle. A security camera captured the suspect's image, which was distributed to other Florida law enforcement agencies and subsequently led to his identification and a warrant for his arrest. On November 30, 2008 burglars entered the rear of an empty commercial space in a small strip mall in Englewood, NJ and cut their way through several walls to a jewelry store. The Riverside County Sheriff's Dept. (CA), Palm Desert Station, has obtained an arrest warrant for this individual in connection with the robbery of a retail jewelry store with a gun. On November 21, 2007 this suspect cased an El Paseo Drive retail jewelry location while posing as a customer and left without making a purchase. He returned later, displayed a gun, and escaped with jewelry in a white 1990 Jeep with a Nevada license plate. As a result of news coverage on local TV stations, tips from citizens have resulted in this suspect being identified in four armed jewelry store robberies, including one in Ventura County where he forcibly removed a sales associate's ring from her finger at gun point.
